Andrew W. Morgan is a composer currently collaborating with performers and
ensembles in the UK, Spain and the US. His music is not only presented in
classical concerts and festivals but, along with sound art projects, also on
radio programs and in art galleries including London’s Tate Modern and
Whitechapel Gallery.  He has worked with many ensembles and soloists
including the London Sinfonietta, BBC Singers, Ken Vandermark, Piano
Circus, the Malaga String Quartet, Awake Films, and the Colorado Youth
Symphony Orchestra.  Projects have received support from the Musicians
Benevolent Fund, The British Library and The Qatari Foundation.  He was
awarded Chicago´s Klienman Composition Prize, and his undergraduate
studies were supported by a cello scholarship.  His pieces have been created
for full orchestra, live electronics, soloists, jazz ensembles, classical chamber
ensembles, with live video, sound installations, with improvisers, Middle
Eastern performers, non-classical ensembles and for films.

Andrew studied at DePaul University in Chicago and the Royal Academy of
Music in London where he was named Fellow of Composition in 2004.  He
performs and records on the cello as well as live electronics, oud, percussion,
as a conductor and producer.  He has been invited to guest lecture at
universities and schools in the UK, US, and the American Pavilion at the
Cannes Film Festival, and an interview with him is published in the book “One
Reason to Live: conversations about music with Julius Nil.”  He is also
preparing an archival recording of the Himba Tribe recorded in remote
Namibia.
